- The Maximum Frequency value basically shows the current power consumption via the CPU.
- If the value does not go beyond a certain point, then it means the CPU is being throttled as well.
CPU Throttling HWiNFO
CPU throttling basically happens whenever the CPU overheats. If your system is cool, the CPU will run to its maximum capacity without even being throttled. So what you really want to check is its temperature.

- Just download a free app that is called HWiNFO, and run it.
- Choose ‘Sensors Only’ and then tap on Run.
- Just scroll down to the DTS section for your processor.
- Take note of the temperatures; and if the CPU is too hot. Then the app will highlight the temperature in red.
- If the CPU is running too hot, then it will be throttled.
Avoid CPU throttling
